Purple Monster

In my opinion, it is depend on how big is your frag. The bigger frag you got, the faster frag grow. Usually purple monster frag are sold about 1" to 2" frag. So it take really long time to grow. Also purple monster is slow growth compare to other fast grow sps

i got a puprple monster frag about 7 months ago and has only grown a little.. barely noticable... i thought the real purple monster has white polyps.. i was told to eventually move to top of my tank and that was a mistake it bleached out about 3 weeks ago.. but i put it back were i originally had it.. it looks as if the color is coming back... is that possible

polyps can change color just like coral tissue can...mine has "whitish" polyps but sometimes i see "greenish" polyps too...

My Tyree PL is a perfect example...if i have it too high the polyps turns brown but if i have it at around mid tank, it turns back to pink...

Here is mine... Pretty fast grower for me

That looks awsome!

Although its a slow grower, I can say its not my slowest. The pics are lousy but here is mine with about 17mos of growth.

Too much light will turn them green. This might also happen if there's a lack of beneficial nutrient in the tank, aka sps food.
