dont let that change your thoughts about LEDS. i changed and will never go back.........

Your PM looks awesome! LEDs are the future. I took my MH the the Land Fill yesterday. May they burn in **** :angryfire:

I've noticed the exact opposite. Almost everything I get out of tanks with halides looks washed for a few weeks after going into my tank. After a few weeks they color up and look great under the leds.

I would love to see some photo evidence to support this. Do you have any FT shots over time showing the corals you are talking about?

and just to be sure and keep the thread on track I'll post some Tyree Purple Monster pics just for grins . . .

Mr. Pluto

I would really like to learn more from you about your tank. Can you post your build thread if you have one. If not c. You start a thread about your practices and your set up? Also what light fixture are you running?
Thanks Michael

I run a simple system. refugium, skimmer ,Gfo, passive carbon .
2 part dosing w/ brs chemicals. once a week Amino acids (acro power)
78 gal display, 230 gal total . my leds at this time are RB photons 16"
& 24" 2060 evergrow.

If you ever want to sell me a frag of purple monster let me know. I will drive to pick it up. I dont even think anyone has one near me.

I have a piece that started in my tank under LED and was very light. I moved to T5 and it's darkened up. Moving back to MH shortly, so we'll see what it does then.

It's impossible to match the halides with the leds exactly so there will immediately be a color shift after the initial switch.
This would be because of the light source, not the coral.

The only way to do this properly would be to photograph before and after with fixed settings and to install and fire up the halides again and do a photo finish.

If you are only looking for drastic exemples precision may not be needed.
