purple or not?

just wondering what people like better, a tanks glass covered in coraline algae or clean glass?

my 125 is totally covered in purple coraline on the back glass and all my rocks, and some on the side glass also...

I like so much corraline, that while I'm cleaning the tank, the corraline is starting to grow on my hand and forearms!

You guys don't like to view your tanks from the side?

P.S. How does everyone get coraline off the corners, where it's all on the silicone?

I have it set up so that I can see through the front and 2 sides of the tank.

Probably worth mentioning. If the tank is built in I would have another view on the sides. A view of purple.

I just took apart my 54 corner so that I can cook my rock and take it to the next level, lol. I painted the backs a nice semi gloss black on the outside. My plan is to clean the backs of coralline and keep it looking nice. I was disappointed that it was pretty much impossible to get the coralline off of the overflow.

Clean glass all the way definitely looks the best. Adds to the view, get all kinds of neat reflections, and it just looks nicer. It matters what is behind the tank, so it is conceivable that algae covered glass could look better than whatever is on the other side. The back of my tank was covered, and it looks so much better now that it is clean. How the wires are run and hidden makes a difference as well.

Remember, clean glass means light reflecting off the glass, full of coralline means the light's being absorbed.

I have the same problem with the black sand, it absorbs light, so my light looks completely different on my tank than on other tanks I've seen.

IMO,

It would be one thing if the coraline coverage was nice and somewhat uniform but its not, it ends up being very splotchy, several different colors and IMO looks terrible. I would have that junk on my tank if someone paid me.
