Purple Plasma

Here is another ORA coral. I didn't like it much at first but it's growing on me. They say it's a staghorn coral.

Have you tried a wire brush (to scrape off the coral that's growing on you... :D )?

Great pic. You should open a coral portrait studio. People bring their frags, you cube 'em up and snap away. You could get some backgrounds going too, like the Great Barrier Reef, or Pennekamp State Park in Florida, or reefs off Kona.

Is it tough to cut down on floating detritus in the cube? I'd be tempted to run a fine dust filter on the pic but I bet it would remove some of the delicious detail and texture on the flesh of the coral.

I use a little pipette to suck out slime and particulate and if any specs show up on the background I get rid of them in processing. Of coarse the panels need to be spotless inside and out.
