1. How old is this aquarium?
Transferred from previous set up. Previous set up broken down middle of August. Rocks transferred to brute with circulation pump. Fish underwent TTM to combat a previous outbreak of Ich in tank and wanted to avoid transferring it to the new tank. After 15 days of TTM, fish were moved to a temp holding tank. New tank was set up with old rock/new sand and left fallow for 75 days to allow ich to die off and new tank to stabilize. Fish were added to new aquarium on Halloween weekend.
2. If less than six months old, what is ammonia level?
0
3. What is SG of this aquarium? How measured?
1.025 measured by refractometer calibrated with calibration fluid
4. When was the last fish added to this aquarium?
all fish are transfers from old tank (minus 3 fish I traded into LFS) and last fish added was a CBB
5. Was it quarantined? If so, how? And how long? Was it prophylactically treated? How?
Fish went through TTM for 15 days (did an extra transfer just to be safe) and also treated with 2 rounds of prazi just in case
6. If you are using a copper based medication, which one? How often do you measure level? When?
N/A
7. If you are using hyposalinity, how did you calibrate your refractometer?
N/A
8. Please describe in detail, the appearance of the fish? If there is one or more pimples, are they lumpy? What color?
Coloration looks good, no visible wounds/parasites/etc. but he isn't easy to see unless I move the rock he is hiding under.
9. Please describe the behavior of the fish as best you can. Is it acting reclusive? Is it always up towards the top of the aquarium? Is it avoiding light? How active is the fish?
Very reclusive, hiding almost 24/7 but has come out for a few brief seconds very very rarely. Not eating as far as I can tell. Resting on sand under rock. Will move/swim away if I move rock. Was previously eating well and out swimming constantly. He started hiding while in the temp tank towards the end of October and I was hoping the new tank with rock work and larger size would coax him back out but he has been hiding since day 1.
10. Is the fish eating? What?
No eating
Any ideas? I don't want to stress him further by continuing to check him but he is hiding constantly and not eating. He cannot last much longer without food. "He" was previously a "she" but started transitioning shortly before the move. All other fish including other purple queen thriving and eating well.
I'm debating pulling him and doing a FW dip or a paraguard dip but not even sure anything is "wrong" with him other than he may just be stressed/spooked.
