My first shot of posting a video so will see if it works.
I'm a big fan of anthias species and Purple Queens are one I would love to try one day. I know they are tough in many aspects but watching this short clip from a recent vist to the Scott Aquarium at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha almost was more than I could take!

Oh I've been around enough to know the downfalls and the time/effort needed. Live foods and multiple feedings per day along with a lot luck are needed. Done a lot of research as well...however I know it can be done for a number of German/European systems house them. I posted this more for enjoyment rather than "how to" questions.
Thanks anyway!!

I love all Anthias. Don't think I will ever attempt purple queens just due to how they can be a hit/miss. Usually a miss lol.

They certainly are beautiful. And while not for most, can be successfully kept by a dedicated hobbyist. I have found that keeping them in larger groups contributes to success.

It's a 10,000g reef tank at the Omaha Zoo.

Not sure of the exact size but I'd say that's close. I have a couple more short vids from that tank I'll upload shortly. I've been to a number of aquariums around the country and must say The Scott Aquarium can stand with any of them!

I got to see this tank whenever I am in Omaha

Yes you do! Plan to spend the whole day there for Omaha's zoo has been ranked in the top 5 zoo's in the WORLD for a number of years now. They are just opening a 75 million dollar African Grassland exhibit that is like no other! Worth the drive and effort to get there!

I think the great aspect of this display is that I've seen so many aquariums that have healthy fish yet the corals are kinda yuck or the corals are nice and the fish selection is bland. I personally have not seen a public display that has both fish and corals at this level. Not saying they aren't out there...just personally haven't seen them.

Sorry, I was off a bit. From the curator:

"This tank is about 8000gal or so on display, but it is hooked in line w/ 2 5000gal reservoirs for a 18,000gal total."

Of course the weird shape of it makes it tricky to measure the display.
