what do you all feed these,i found one on the shore after a storm and would like to save it.any help would be greatly apprecieted

from what ive heard theyre photosinthetic and they live in preaty shallow waters so they should demand preaty strong lighting.
Just my two cents.

sorry its not photo synthetic, it is a filter feeder, actually needs quite a bit of food as well as a strong current, and low light so algae wont grow on it. I hooked one while fishing one day, took it home and researched it. needless to say it died after quite awhile.

I think there may be more than one type that are called purple sea whip. I have one kind that is photosynthetic and have had it for years. Never fed it anything and it is thriving.

this one has a needle like structure unlike the fat purple gorgs ive seen in the keys,it has shed once and seems to like the cyclopsese i put in but it very rarely has any feeders out.ill try to download a pic this evening.thanks again.
