Purple Star Polyp Help Needed

I purchased my first frag, a purple star polyp, last weekend that looked really nice and put it in my tank. It has new growth but a few days ago some of the big polyps started shriveling and some of them are now unopened and whitish. What should I do? What is wrong with it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

need youre tank specs.tank size, lighting ,filtration ,stocking, water parameters and coral pics .star polyps open and close for weeks at a time for no reason.but i cant say this till you answer those questions.pics also help allot

My tank has been up for about 2 months. They are at the bottom of the tank, I have a 75 gallon with a 6 light tek light on it. It has 3 Blue +, 1 blue aquaspecial, 1 purple, and a daylight bulb in it. It gets enough flow that it isn't plastered down but still moves. PH 8.2, Nitrates 0, phosphate level is 0, my salinity is 1.024, my Alk is about 9-10 dKH, and my Cal is about 440 mg/L. Some of the polyps have a whitish tip most are still purple and some look fine and are open some have smaller "fingers" but are open. I did drip acclimate them. I will try to get a pic tonight. I have 2 blue damsels, one talbot damsel and 2 clown fish. I have a glove polyp that is doing wonderfully and rapidly growing. I just put a xenia in on Saturday so, it hasn't had a chance to do anything. The other corals are no where near the purple star polyps.

Oopse forgot the filtration. I have a 20 gallon sump with reef octopus skimmer and live rock in it and a canister filter as well. In the main tank I have 80 lbs live sand and about 95 lbs live rock.

to tell you what i think is that they are just stressed from shipping and all will recover in time.youre water is good tank is young but stars are fine for a new system.they do act wierd at times and just close up but i just think youres are stressed and in a month or two you will see new growth on them but i still need to see pics just to be sure.dont worry they will make it and grow like weeds.

Here are my pics.

Here are the pictures. You can see where the polyps have stopped coming out and are now white. More and more are doing that. Everything still checks out parameter wise in the tank as well.

Anytime you notice something wrong with your corals, check you tank perameters. A quick water change could do the trick, but it is always good to know what your perameters are.
