purple tang and blue tang

Will they have any trouble getting along in a 4 foot tank with alot of hiding space?

Also thinking of adding a 2 barred rabbit fish to handle my algae, will all the 3 fishes work?

IMO, a 4 foot tank is too restrictive for any of these fish. If by blue tang you mean the hepatus, it will need a lot more horizontal swimming space. Purple tangs are very active and would also appreciate the length as they mature.

In addition to what Jerry said, I think the purple tang would do a decent amount of damage to the "blue" tang in that sized tank. I used to have a purple in my 75, and right before I sold it it started going after my male Clarkii -- to the point where the clown would have very clear cuts on it.

i'd go with just the purple ....even then might be pushing it after a while, only fish i seen hold up to my purple tang is a foxface....(purple got stung few times) anywho purples get insanely mean as they get bigger....i put in a flame angel and he sure didnt like that, almost killed the flame......and this is in a 5foot tank

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but a 12 inch fish won't have a lot of hiding places in a 48 inch tank. Then on top of it an 11 inch rabbitfish...maybe if they were the only fish in the tank.
