Purple Tang, risk it? If not, suggestions please, including "do nothing."

:fish2:My 2 year old, 6 ft. 150g currently houses

2- Ocellaris Clowns, 12 year old mated pair (moved from my 90g I took down)
1- Six Line Wrasse
1- Midas Blenny
1- Kole Tang
1- Eibli Angel
1- Long Nose Butterfly
1- Coral Banded Shrimp
snails and hermits.

A few soft corals: Blue Mushroom, Toadstool Mushroom Leather, Pom Pom Xenia, Hairy Mushroom Rock Rhodactis, and some Zoas.

My last addition was the Butterfly about 5 months ago and went really smooth.

I am considering a Purple tang, but concerned about adding more than one tang to my tank and disrupting the peace. Looking for opinions on adding a purple tang and if so what size would give me the best chance for success?

If not the tang, what other fish might be added? I thought about another Wrasse, but with all the horror stories about six lines, my six line has been very peaceful so not sure I want to upset that balance.

Suggestions and opinions please?

I think you could do another tang. I have a kole tang in 2 separate tanks, & they both are mild toward other tangs. But your tang police will say you need a 400g tank...

If you try another wrasse, I would do an acclimation box.

Try to add a purple tang that is smaller then the kole is while using an acclimation box for your introduction and you should be good. I have a purple and a kole in my 150 6', at one point their was a small hippo as well but once it hit 4" I removed him, going forward I only plan on adding fish that can live permanently in my current system.

+1. Maybe make a small cage out of egg crate to see how well the Kole deals with it. I'm guessing it will make your tank a little more aggravated on a daily basis. Have you thought about an Anthia or a Foxface?

I have considered a Foxface and have not ruled it out. I have heard these can go after zoas and softies, but the butterfly and angel are risky, so not sure why that should deter me. Just like the purple better, but not sure I want aggression to go up.

Have not really researched anthias much but willing to consider. Thanks for the suggestion.

I use the acclimation box normally between 3-5 days, I made a 2' x 10" x 10" box out of egg crate, I put in 3 small pieces of live rock for the fish to hide behind and pick on

I would be more concerned about your Kole Tang going after the Purple. But like what has been suggested I would add a Purple Tang that is smaller than the Kole.

My purple is an angel but he is also the tank enforcer. Meaning if their is any agression shown by other fish he is quick to go after the agressor. Kind of neat, in my mind.
