i want to ask has some reefers who have pt and corals
do they go well or has the pt nibbled most of ur corals

since its one of the hardiest tang and lovely colour to add to dp
but dont want my corals being eaten

cheers

I have one and never seen him nip. I have seen him nipping at the base of some sps but I think he was just nipping at algea

I use to have one and he wiped out my zoas colony. He was heavily fed too, just developed a liking for it I guess.

I think your corals will be fine. However, I had one and had major aggression problems. He was about 4 inches and in a 125. He would regularly attack my tusk and other fish so he had to go.

Yes, make sure if your getting a p. tang. he is the last to go in. Very last. I mean it, hahaha. I have same expiernce here in my 120 gallon with my tusk as well.

thanks for the replys

yeah ill make it last fish since i have a few more smaller fish to buy.
was going to get the sohal tang but asked on previous thread is a def no no

Mine has never bothered corals in over 2 years. But I think it is getting too big for my 120G at 4 inches.

never had issues with my purple...i seen him eat algae thats close to corals....only thing he nips at is other fish..he's a mean booger

I've currently got 2 purples and 2 sailfins among 10 other tangs together in a 400. The larger purple occ chases the smaller but no scrapes or nicks on any of my tangs. Enough space affords you many combos that a smaller tank probably won't. Also, I feed 4 sheets of seaweed 4x/week along with live shrimp and frozen/flake/pellets 3-4x/week. I've never seen tangs nip at any corals in my tank.

I sold mine a couple of months ago, but it never bothered any corals in the 2 years I had it. As for it bothering my other fish, that is a different story. My male Clarkii would often have cuts on it from the tang.

I've had mine for about 2 years and haven't seen him nip at any corals. He/She/It is very aggressive. I can add one more tang in my display, but I'm hesitant since I added one a while ago and he chased it like crazy. It did stop after a few days though. Probably establishing the pecking order...?
