Purple Tang

I'm thinking of adding a purple tang to my 120 gal I've got a 2 -3 inch Kole Tang and wanted to get some feedback as to if the two would get along.

Mine get along great. The kole doesn't directly compete with the purple since it's a bristle mouth it just rasps the glass all day long. Tank size matters too. I have a 210 with 4 tangs in it. I was worried that the yellow and purple would fight but I was never worried about the regal and kole. They are easy going fish. The last I added was the regal and it was accepted like it had always been part of the tank. The purple did fight with the yellow for a week but then they decided who was boss and have been buds ever since, swimming together all the time. Neither of them care anything about the kole.

The kole is one of my favorite fish I have.

It will most likely be the last fish you can get due to their rathet aggresive nature. It should have no problem fitting in but may not allow much else afterwards. They are one of my personal favs if you couldnt tell by my user name.

I've added several fish since adding my Purple Tang and he's not been aggressive toward any of them. One of them was a regal tang.

Just goes to show you can never tell how a certain fish will behave. Sounds like yours is peaceful but as a whole they are known to be the most agressive Zebrasoma. Cool video and that Kole sure hates that dottyback never seen anything like that from a Kole. I LOVE my Purple.

I know. It's crazy. Fish actually have personality. They do have a reputation. Currently I have two dottybacks, a purple and an orchid and they should hate each other but don't and now the kole totally leaves both alone.

Tanks size and rock layout, I think, has a lot to do with it.
