Purple tang

A lot of us do. I do.

Over a year, mine is the most aggressive tang in the tank, although small. It beats up my sohal when my sohal beats up my chevron- no kidding. There's a sticky on here for sizes.

Started with 5 wound up with 3 due to aggression, but that was the old tank.
The new one had 1 but too aggressive so I gave it away.

have had 2....never had problems with aggression after accumulation, one of the least aggressive tangs i have had. koles, yellows, hippos, chocolates all more aggressive imo, ime! not sure why they have a bad rap, certainly no more aggressive than a yellow tang and i think less.

I have one and have had it for over a year (He is also my only tang.) Pretty solid fish. He was one of the latter fish I added and everybody gets along pretty well. My tank is 110 gallon and the purple tang and a marine betta are the only larger fish I have.

I've kept them. Found them to be less aggressive than the yellow tangs I've kept.

Love them! One of my favorite fish. Bullet-proof, very hardy.

Ive had one in my 160 gallon for about 5 months.
Fun to watch with minor aggression towards foxface and Lemon peal angle.

I lost mine after 10 years of having her. All I can say is quarantine!!! I lost all my fish due to not quarantining. I was deviated!!

I have one, love him. I got him from petco.com for about $80, came in about the size of a quarter with a terrible case of ich and super skinny. A month or two in quarantine, lots of good food, prazi pro, and some cupramine. Now he is good to go. Always out front in the tank and doesn't pick on anyone.

I have had one for about two years. Absolutely stunning fish I would recommend but I would recommend adding him towards the tail end of your stocking list. Mine is fine with the fish that were there before him,but adding new fish can incite some aggression. Although I did add a Chevron afterwards. Aggression for a few days and then it was OK.
