Purple Tilefish experience?

Saw a couple of these in a LFS. I didn't realize how vibrantly purple they are. Anyone have experience with them in a mixed reef? The ones they had were about 4-5".

They're beautiful fish, aren't they? My LFS had a couple in a few months ago - they were in his coral bed with a large Purple Tang and a couple of smaller Sailfin Tangs. The tilefish were very laid back. I almost bought one, but at $90, it was more than I was willing to spend on a fish (did I mention that I'm cheap?)

Ya,these guys were $70/each, and it is very tempting, but I want to make sure people have had success with them. I have tried researching on here with mixed reviews.

They are very pretty. I've heard the flashing tilefish hide a lot. And don't flash much. I don't know about the purples.

From what I have seen they do fine other then they jump a lot.

Make sure your tank is very well covered as they are notorius jumpers.

Mine lives with a goby and shrimp pairing in the same "tunnel complex". I rarely see it, and never see it flash. But no problems other than being a superb jumper.
