Purple tip crispa anemone

Pretty heavy light, moderate to slightly heavy flow, DSB

thanks, since i bought this crisp anemone try to stay away from the flow. he always go under a rock and hide. when the lights on he come out with a long neck. is it usual habitat of this anemone?

I don't believe a deep sand bed is necessary. All the ones I've kept near the sand bed attached their foot to a rock near the sand. They don't tend to burrow through the sand to the bottom like a haddoni or LTA. Also, mine expanded better under moderate/low flow. When acclimating a new crispa, I highly recommend reducing flow until it is settled as well.

Mine would initially dig in the sand, but not stay, it was only when it planted it's foot in a hole in the liverock that it stayed put. They seem to like to have their foot attached to a hard surface and to have coral or live rock around their column.

Ditto this. Mine has lived this way for 12 years.

I honestly believe some of the information given about H. crispa is due to misidentification in the Fautin and Allen book.

I think just about every source I've seen on anemone info has something that is contradicted by another source or some info that needs to be brought up to date.
Anemone's are still so misunderstood, but at least most links here have some good basic guidelines.
I think it also varies w/ our tanks, often I have seen sand dwellars climb rock due to inadequate light.
