i was just wondering how rare the purple-tipped gbta's are.... my lfs has a really pretty one, and it seems like i never see them at any lfs. do they generally command a higher price than normal ones? this one is 49 bucks.

I have never seen a Purple Tip at any of the LFS stores around the Houston Area, have seen nice size RBTA going for around $49.00 here.

If it is healthy, that is a good price in my opinion.

You can check www.fragglereef.com

I got a healthy one from him(and I believe he sells healthy animals) for cheaper, but then add the shipping...... and YOU have a good deal at your LFS.

GOOD LUCK

i kind of don't want to add a 'nem to my 30g (+20 sump+ fuge) reef... just because they seem like too much drama. but my black occy's are trying to host in my open brain and this nem is so gorgeous... i am tempted. my tank is very stable, do you guys think it is worth it?

I guess it depends on what else you have in your tank. You said that you have an open brain, is there anything else in there. A 30 gallon tall doesn't seem to give the nem a lot of room to wander around and find a happy spot without blundering into something else.

They are beautiful animals, and they are quirky... if you don't know what to expect then they will seem quite iradic.... too much drama... but if you have a healthy tank, and a healthy anemone and are patient yet attentive you should fair well.

Check This Out

It is a survey by Joyce Wilkerson who wrote the book on clownfishes. It is interesting information and a point of views.

Good Luck!

I should add...

I'm not trring to make any statement, but I think the article is interesting and and does provide a perspective that people should understand.

I love my anemone :-)
