colony is 1/2 way up12 inches from light, been in same spot for 2 months, new to SPS so do I just be more patient or make changes? Been moving a frag around but not much change.

be patient, sometimes it takes months to color up,i have my bonsai placed in about the top 1/3rd of my tank under T5 and it looks awesome.just leave it be and let it do its thing.

I have 3 one sitting on the sand bed one on a frag rack and the mother is 3/4 way up in the tank I also run t-5 5 six footers and the tank is a 180

Mine lost all it's color too. It sits at top & was very purple at one time, I also noticed other sps loosing color & at a closer look I noticed red bugs on the blue slimer. I just treated last night with interceptor hoping to regain the health & color there once was.

So which one has the best color?. I have mine in low light for an sps and it looks pretty good with purple and bright yellow/green polyps

mine does not like to be messed with at all. If i touch it it is brown for 2-3 weeks then comes back around beautifully. got pics everyone?

I haven't seen anyone mention any of the "environmental" factors yet... such as PO4, Nitrates, Alk... Any of these will affect your color.

id check for red bugs..mine waned in color and I noticed red bugs on it...treated with inteceptor and the color came right back. I didnt follow up treatment of the intecptor and the bugs came back..and mine is a real pale color again.

Yep, that was my most infected coral, only saw a few on it, then I dosed and they were crawling all over it. It was sick, nasty,. Looks so much better almost instantly after treatment and growth took off too. The redbugs definately have a taste for particular corals and this is one of them. You really have to use magnification to check for them. Otherwise your params look normal, whats your phos and nitrate level at?
