Purple up (w/iodine) and clowns

I thought I read that some species, including clowns, were affected by fairly low levels of iodine. I had been dosing with purple up about every other day, but I'm getting my first fish in the a.m. and don't want to continue putting it in the water if it will affect any fish. Can anyone help me out with this?

If you are not checking the levels already, you need to get a reef kit and test for the iodine levels. I believe the iodine level for natural seawater is .06 - if you are using a skimmer, you will probably need a weekly supplement to maintain this level. If not, you should probably only dose once a month (depending on the frequency of your water changes, etc.).
