Ok, now that someone has said it, I can say I was originally thinking A. horrida, but I'm usually terrible with species names. Regardless, it was a good deal and a beautiful Acro. I haven't been able to find a good photo of A. austera that looks like it yet. But, at the same time, my coral doesn't look like a lot of the horridas I've seen with the long smooth stalks and random polyps except at the tips.
Yeah, my photography skills (and camera) are lacking (I have an old point-and-shoot that has a lens that is starting to bubble...delaminating?) Thanks for the pointers...maybe one of these days I'll upgrade cameras and take a few classes. Anyway, I bumped the coral purposely since it's normally quite hairy and figured that wouldn't help with an ID. But yes, its polyps are out a LOT during the day.
Thanks to both of you!
