HI you happy people well heres my recent idea I decided to put my two year old pair of mated fire mollies in my tank Ive done my research and they acclimated just fine they seem to be doing ok Im hoping they dont die or worse pick on any corals they seem to be doing fine any precaution i dont know about let me know people thanks

Just seems a little weird to me, putting primarily freshwater fish into a salt tank - though mollies are supposed to be very adaptable going from everything I've read.... its just a question of 'why ?' to me...

from what i was told mollies are born in salt water then converted to freshwater. i could be wrong but i do remember hearing that somewhere.

Mollies are live bearers, meaning that they give birth to live babies, not eggs. And they don't give birth in saltwater just to have thiere babies come back into freshwater...

It is possible to have mollies and even guppies acclimated to salt water. Some poeple use them to start a cycle, and sometimes they are used as live food. Since they are raised in saltwater, it is better for the fish that you are feeding them to.
