Tropiquarium really nice but be prepared to open that wallet really wide:eek2:

Yes, agreed, their dry goods are actually extremely expensive IMO. But birthdays and anniversaries call for that "something special". :D

Wow, you guys just gave me goosebumps. Thank you so much, I really thought nobody was interested anymore. I'd be more than happy to share updates.

The tank is doing fantastic. Without so many words I'll share some pictures. LOTS of them actually. :)

And now I would like to tell you about a very special family member, our best friend, our beloved Simon. This is for him:

On Monday, January 7th, 2008, we had to say our final farewell to our beloved Simon. In November we had a mass removed, which we (wanted to) believed to be yet another sebaceous cyst. It wasn’t so this time. The growth returned quickly and viciously, only 2 weeks after having the stitches removed. The day after Christmas it opened up, growing and spreading rapidly.

Said Monday afternoon we were all by his side. He was our fighter, our miracle dog, our face â€"œ with a spirit that never broke. Alex and the boys petted and caressed him one last time. His head rested in my lap, on top of my sweater, I buried my face in his thick, soft coat and whispered loving words into his ear as he took his final breath.

My vet reassured us all that we were absolutely doing the right thing, especially because I had so many doubts about letting him go. The truth is I will never let go. Simon will never really leave us. He won our hearts over by storm 11 years ago, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing his gentle demeanor, his antics, and his sweet personality knows just how very special he was.

Simon, we love you â€"œ we miss you â€"œ and we will never ever forget you.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Wow I really don't know what to say. Sorry for your loss.

The tank looks great.

That's quite all right. There's nothing anybody can really say. Time will be the healer - eventually.

Thank you. :)

I love the tank as much as ever, and am quietly dreaming of upgrading to something a bit larger....one day. ;)

Wendy,

I am very impressed with your tank and the progress you have made. You are obviously a gifted person.
It sounds like Simon was a real blessing in your family and I am sorry for your loss.
It has truely been inspirational reading your thread. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Wendy, great job, from where did you get the SPS frags, what's the name of the LFS in Jersey you like so much?

Thank you kindly. :)

Most of my frags came from fellow reefers. Some of them are from the frag swap that took place in October.

I also found some really nice pieces at Aquatic Obsession in Avenel, The Hidden Reef in Levittown PA, Tropiquarium in Ocean, and various smaller stores where I just got "lucky". :)

I'm currently in the planning process of upgrading to a 180 in the fall. Scary, especially since the new tank will be going in the exact same location as this one.
