any certain kind of pvc glue to use? about to plumb to my sump and was wondering how to go about gluing it.

I also used the Christy's referenced above on my PVC joints without primer. Horrible chemical smell, but everything turned out fine without any problems.

Oatley Gold can.
No primer needed. I sometimes clean the pieces with acetone prior to gluing to remove labeling and such.
I've used it for years, no leaks.

I have used the Weld-On from Home Depot without problems. Give it about a day or two for the smell to go away before any water contact.

I did a search on here when I was getting ready to glue my plumbing. There's quite a few opinions and quite a debate whether to use primer or not....

I ended up using Christy's Red Hot Blue Glue without primer...........worked out fine. HTH

I can promise you, if you do not use primer while plumbing your house, you'll have a pool in your basement, sometime. At aquarium pressure, not likely needed. Not a chance I'm willing to take as primer is cheap and easy.

If you use the glues i mentioned, there is no need to worry about primer, the glue itself softens and welds the pipe together. If your using something like oatly glue that should use the primer because it is not near as strong.
