PVC Plumbing

I am changing out my sump this weekend and going with hard PVC plumbing for returns and drains with a short piece of silicone tubing from the return pump instead of ribbed pool hose and flexible tubing. My main concern and question is how long should I let PVC glue dry/cure before I restart my return pumps?
Thanks

Better to wait, my sps's didn't care much for a three hour wait, I did run carbon, no real adverse effects but the polyps didn't come out for a few days. (of course it could have just been a flow issue not at all related to the pvc glue)

basic Cure time is 2-4 hours.

I remember seeing a chart from one of the other manufacturers for pvc glue but only found one from Weld-On when i just checked now. Basically they say small pipes up to 1-1/4" can be handled within 2 minutes of gluing, and pressurized to 160 psi within 15 minutes... We never see that sort of pressure so its quite a bit sooner that its fine for use. Up to 2" pipe its 5 minutes and 30 minutes for the two cure times.

Be safe and wait until you can't smell it. My sps freaked when I did it within 2 hours on my last tank. I waited this time and everything was perfect.

If you think VOC's are good for your water quality, go ahead and put the plumbing in service right away. If you don't, wait 24 hours, or until it is done outgassing, (you can no longer smell the solvent.)
