PVC rock support structures

As I posted earlier, I plan to redo some aquascaping this weekend. One thing I want to accomplish is to get some taller features. A 90g is somewhat of a challege for that because it is tall relative to its front to back dimension.

I want to make some sort of structure to support the rocks. I was thinking PVC pipe as I have seen others make.

Anyone have pictures of their support structures?

Has anyone used something like this basket turned upside down?

Any other ideas?

I plan on using a plastic milk crate turned upside down in my tank. Pretty much the same effect as sterilite basket. I'll cut out a lot of the cross braces and probably zip tie rock to the four legs and top. I think it'll come out pretty cool.

Haffs09,

I have a pile of rock in a milk crate in my sump. I think it is strong enough just a little too big for my tank. That is why I was thinking of the smaller basket. Thanks for the feedback.

i have a smaller tank, and smaller rocks.. so i used a 1/4" bit and one of those driveway reflectors, the fiberglass is real easy to cut with a dremel, and they were strong enough to get 3 or 4 rocks stacked up...

this might not work if you've got bigger rock or want to go super high tho..
