PVC - Schedule 80 to 40 doesn't fit?

I have an Octopus calcium reactor and it's got gray schedule 80 pvc. Well the pump that ran it died on me and after getting another replacement that one died as well (it's Chinese crap). So I'm throwing a mag 5 on it. Problem is, locally schedule 80 isn't available so I"m going with standard issue schedule 40.

Well, much to my suprise the 3/4" pipe that the Ocotpus uses, is just a tiny bit smaller than a standard schedule 40 3/4" pipe...

I thought they were standard outside dimensions??

I've glued the hell out of it in hopes that it just kinda works... not sure though - how much pressure is going to build up in a dual 6" tube reactor with a mag 5.....

The octopus skimmers use metric plumbing. some fittings can be shaved with a dremel to make them mate. Teflon tape works wonders as well.

I think I'll stick with American Made skimmers thank you very much... LOL! I had the same problem with mine that I used on my 58 gallon nano reef. the pump died and had a hard time getting another one so I got rid of the Euro trash and went back to Lifereef... Lifereef Rules!!!!
