Pygmy angel

I have a pygmy angel that was purchased about 6 months ago. He is doing great--eats like a pig, even steals food right from turkey baster while feeding corals, lol.

I feed him a rotation of frozen brine, mysis, froz. angel food which has algae and veg in it, spirulina, and flake. He really picks out the shrimp from everything.

So my question is, do I need to be feeding him those green sheets that you put in a clip? If so, how often? He's my only fish.

First of all, what type of Pygmy is it? Most species need algae in their diet so it's always a good idea to keep a piece of algae in the tank. They'll graze on it all day and it is part of most pygmy angelfish's diet in the wild. There are two ways to have it available. One way is the classic algae clip. It works well but can be very unattractive. The second way is to rubber band a sheet to a piece of live rock. The second way seems to work better because it allows them to pick it out of crevices just like in nature.

Do you mean C. argi, AKA as Cherubfish, Atlantic Pygmy Angel
Or
C. Flavicauda ( Also C. fisheri) known as Whitetail Angel, Pacific Pygmy angel?
Best to use the Latin name so EVERONE knows who you are talking about.

That said being said, ALL Centropyge benefit from greens in their diets. Nori Clips are a good idea. Also, if you have unsightly hair algae, they eat that crud!
