Pyramid butterfly in a 42g?

Okay, be civil please. Any chance a small pyramid butterfly could do well in a 42g for a few years? Thinking along the lines of the many reefers that have had success with small regal angels in tanks of that size.

Really intrigued by this fish... "Easy," "Peaceful" and "Reef Safe" are three words I like.

I think the main thing with regals being okay in smaller tanks is the fact that they don't quite swim that much.. They kind of glide. I'm not sure a 42g is enough for even a Juvy regal and I'm hesitant to even think about putting one in my 75.. Not to be rude or anything, not my intention, just speaking my opinion.

Add that to the fact that butterflies in general are pretty active swimmers... I would say no. 5' tank at the minimum honestly.. I wouldn't put one in my tank. However, I've never had a pyramid before so I could be dead wrong. But I doubt it

La lists the minimum at 125 for the butterfly. The problem isn't just space, but also supplemental food. A 42 just couldn't keep up with the demand.

I don't think so. They are normally collected fairly large, and graze constantly.

With a response you consider inappropriate, report using the little red triangle. However a pyramid butterfly needs a larger tank.

Agreed. They are tang equivalents in terms of husbandry. Not all that 'easy' either.
