Been searching the last couple days and still can't figure out if I have pyramid snails. I just can't tell for sure and hope someone can help.
I also have an unhappy clam that is not fully extending, but does react to shadows. I have had him for about 8 months. Also a clam that I have had for about a year and a half died a few days ago the same way.
I can't find the snails around the clam, they are on the live rock close to sand bed.
thanks for any help.

Hi!
1st pic:
  • Left is a absoluty harmoless snail (Homalopoma sp. or Collonista sp.) feeds algae.
  • Right is probably a Pyramidellidae sp. This tiny snail feeds snail´s and clam´s
As soon as possible take this snails out of your tank.

As pointed out above, you have pyrams. A sixline or Halichoeres sp. would be useful, in addition to scrubbing the outside of the clam in tank water every other night. Often pyrams will hide in the sand bed/LR during the day, coming out at night to feed. FYI, Any whitish clusters of "bubbles" are actually eggs, just so you know.

Thank you very much. I was thinking thats what have

I will start scrubbing tonight. The clam is on live rock and most
Likely will have to be cut off. Do you guys think that would cause to
Much stress?
Was thinking about picking up a small bag of sand on the way home
So that I could put the clam in a bowl and Change the Sand every night
And after scrubbing.

I think so. But that can tell you other user better. I have no Tridacna in my tank.

That´s stressful for the clam and yours is weakened. I think I would not do so. I would every day/night pick up the tiny snail´s. Maybe someone has a better solution.
