Q about frogspawn

do frogspawn release baby heads into the water column to attach and grow somewhere else?

I realize they split like crazy, but I saw a little guy floating around in the tank so I put it in a small jar with a rock

is this pathological or should I expect this little guy to grow?

i think it'll die. I thought they only did that when they were going to die anyways. I dunno.

Mine does this some times and I've read that they do this when they are splitting. If it is in the way of a new mouth or place where it is splitting they pop off to make room.
