I am reading up on product called Chemi-Pure, I am impressed with their claims. Ok, here is the question: I have Magnum 350 canister filter, could I mix 50/50 carbon and Chemi-Pure? Or just run one or the other?
If you look inside the bag of chemi-pure, you can see that it is mostly carbon. There are these brownish beads of resin mixed in. You can probably just run the chemi-pure.
what a trip, I am doing the exact same thing right now. I just put em both together. I only had one container of chemi-pure and it didn't fill up the media container so I topped it off with carbon.
I've used chemi pure for years. no problem mixing with carbon. Don't believe all there claims. The one about stabilized ph is a joke. The stuff is a good chemical absorbent and has a long life.
I have used Chemi-pure in all my tanks for as long as I can remember, even when I couldn't get a tank to work worth beans. I personally think it is a waste of money to use both. You can see in my sig I run 2 units in my 46. I replace it every 2 months. I find it works great.
Thanks all of you! I don't implicitly trust marketting claims (I guess I am paranoid ) stable pH? ... what a goof.. how they did figure out what my target pH is? A? - but I liked the fact that it lasts longer and besides absorbtion it has some ion exchange media, that takes a step beyond just organic waste filtration.
I suppose there is only one way to find out... I am going to get it, and see what it'll do wish me luck! and thanks again!
