Q's for a 2' cube

Hello,

I currently have a 60 gal. cube (2' lxwxh) to set up and would like a mixed reef setting (sps, zoa's, lps, etc.). From what I have read about the vortech system, I like the features. Any recommendations on which model I would need, and the best placement in a cube to create a wave (surge) effect? Any advice would be helpful.

For a 60gal your right at the threshold between an MP40w and an MP20. If you want to have a wave your best bet is the MP40w as I doubt the MP20 will do it in a tank this size. Placement for the pump should be centered on one pane and about three inches down.

I would go with the 40 also. I havea 20 in a 30 cube and could probably run a 40 if I did not have sand. I have a 40 waiting for a tank almost the same size as yours. Have also saw a 40 in a 29 biocube and it actually worked out well.

Thanks for the information--I just don't want so much movement that everything is being blown around and the environment only caters to sps. I really appreciate all the help here.

Excess movement won't be an issue because you can dial the MP40w down to 1000gph which should be fine.
