Is hypo safe to use when quarantining a butterfly fish?

I QT everything, and have a Copperband Butterfly there now. For Butterfly fish, I don't use hypo. I use Mardel Coppersafe to prevent or treat Ich.

Good luck! I lost my CB butterfly in QT. I could not get him to eat! I will follow this, I'd like to try it again. Is your CB eating? If so, what?

Butterfly fish tolerate hyposalinity as well as any fish. The issue some have are the particular bf species they select. Copperbands are fragile fish and many do not aclimate well period. A hardier species should be fine in a well established QT, and hypo should not be a problem.
