QT dilemma

I'll try to keep this brief. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently QT'ing a large goby, small blenny and a pair of mandarins in a 20L. I am using an AC50 w/seeded sponge for filtration. Everything is going great; all fish are eating well (even the mandarins). I've only had these fish a week, so the first round of Prazi is as far as I've gotten with them.

My dilemma is I just found out I have a foxface being shipped to me and will arrive tomorrow morning. Long, long story. So, with such short notice, here are my available options:

#1 - Put the foxface in the 20L, and QT with the rest of my fish. Seems the most logical choice. However, I wasn't planning on QT'ing a foxface with "bottom dwellers", and I am somewhat concerned about the added bioload.

#2 - I have a 29 gal (fishless) frag tank I could put him in temporarily. Of course, I would still need to run him thru my QT regimen (Prazi/CP) at some point.

#3 - I have about 25 gal of freshly mixed s/w on hand. So, I could go buy a 10 gal tank in the morning and begin TT on him. I also have several 4 gal buckets and a bottle of Amquel. Anyone think I could successfully TT a medium-sized foxface with a couple of those?

TIA

I think you could do tt with 2 ten gallon tanks. But better yet two 32g trash barrels would give you a lot more room, and about the same price or cheaper.

IMO, 10g tanks are perfect for tank transfer, provided that the fish isn't too large. I use them myself, and had a 4" Foxface with a 2.5" Papuan Toby in the same tank the entire time, which is a pretty decent bioload. Worked well for me, dosing with Prime every other day just in case. I think I paid something like $13 for each 10g tank at Petsmart, so it was relatively inexpensive compared to my Brutes.

Thanks for the input. I bought 2-10 gal tanks after I picked him up from Fedex. He's floating in one now. I've got the SG matched (to what the vendor told me, will double check once I open the bag). I've also got an airstone running strong, and the heater has the temp almost at 78. I just need to run out later and pick up a couple of PVC caves. Everyone wish me luck!

Anyone have experience using an ammonia reducer (i.e. Amquel, Prime) with Prazipro? I know it's a no-no with any copper based med.

I run Prime with PraziPro in my QT, and have never had an issue. I know others here have done the same, as well.
