QT filter question

when i set up my QT i bought a 10 gal tank that my LFS called a starter tank, it came with a filtration system that is very similar to the ever so popular sponge filter. it uses an air pump, and a carbon filter like an HOB. my question is what do i do with the carbon filter when im finished quing my fish thats in there now? do i just toss it or if its still good can i keep it till next time.

They are so cheap--I would either place it or your sponge from the sponge filter in the sump/fuge of your main display so that you have a biologically active filter media that you can just drop in our quarantine tank when you get your next fish.
