I just got my 2 tangs yesterday morning 1>blue Hippo,1>scopas.
I drip acclimated them for 2 and a half hours and are in Qt doing ok.
When I purchased them they did not look so well ,the hippo has torn fins because he was in with other tangs and was being picked on and the scopas look ok but is darting, ? they are both eating.
Anyways here is my question > they are both an inch big in a 30 gallon Qt. Qt tank is cycled but I took the little piece of live rock out today so I can start cupramine> Only because when fish were purchased they were on a central system and some fish had ICH.
How much cupramine in ML's for these 2 babys ? I have the salt at 1023 and the temp at 78 0>amm>0>nitrite> ph 8.4> Nitrates>10
Another question: Will I get an ammonia spike now after taking rock out and with using cupramine? Im using the stick on ammonia badge
that reads free amm and using stablity.<per seachem

Can I use prazi pro now or wait until the 14 days is up? also can I treat the reg 14 days or should I cut that in half because how small they are?

Thanks

Add 1ml of Cupramine per 10 gallons of water the first day. Wait 48 hours and add another 1ml per 10 gallons. Buy a test kit to measure the copper, preferebly Seachem's. I always mix Prazipro and Cupramine and haven't had any issues.

Aww I am destined to not have fish! I did what the directions said the first day using 2.5 ml for 29 gallons.
I have the salifert which showed .10 it should have read .25 so I waited until today did a 10 gallon water change added another ml back into tank still at .10 which I figured seeing as yesterday this is what I got so then I called seachem they told me to add another 1ml<
I was scared to dose the whole ml so I did half of a ml it looks like im almost at .25 but im not sure "color chart is so similar"
heres the thing I added that half ml and both my tangs were zipping swimming fast ,then stopping backing up, swimming fast again?
what is normal behavior using cupramine?
I checked all my levels 0 amm-0-nitrite-10 trates ph 8.4 temp 78
I have a fluval #1 in their >its like the nanos and 2 hob filters with poly fill, and a bio screen and 2 plastic like thingys for the to hide. and thats it.
the hippo is still eating but now the scopas is not really touched anything today< is this normal with cupramine? I think im going to hold off on adding prazi and just watch them.
any help at all is greatly appreciated I have waited 9 months almost got out of hobby because I lost my last tangs due to not having a cycled qt and now I do and I still feel like Im doing something wrong!
Please help!!!! any advice!

Thanks

Meant to say Koralia #1 sorry

Copper and PraziPro are compatible, i.e., you can use both at the same time. Formalin and copper are compatible. In fact, I use all three at the same time. I have a 10 gal QT tank and use 20 ppm ionic copper, PraziPro per its instructions and 1 cc of Formalin per 10 gals of water added every other day. The QT tank is absolutely empty of everything except a heater, air stone and power head for circulation. I also use a HOT micron filter, cloth no carbon. After each feeding I use an Eheim hand vac to pick up the un-eaten food and the micron filter removes the remainder. I have always had zero nitrate, nitrites and ammonia. My only problem is a 7.8 PH I could use a buffer to bring it up but had not done so. I currently have one clown in the QT tank for three weeks; one more week and she comes out.

Thanks for the reply! are you using cupramine? this is what I have.
I called the number for prazipro and they told me do not attempt to use prazi with 0.25 <this is where Im at right now"almost positive" and tomorow I will be at >0.50 "salifert test kit" so according to them my fish will be at the top gasping in 15 minutes of use? I said Ive heard of a lot of people using prazi with cupramine and he said yes but at much lower dosage>here's the thing If I lower does under 0.25 I'm not really helping them
Also My scopas just this evening started showing a few black dots?
Is this black Ich? will the copper get rid of it?
also my biggest concern is when I added the rest of the half dose today my tangs starting darting across the tank is this usual with cupramine? what is their behavior ?
Sorry for all the questions this is my first time using this type of copper and I have had no luck using a qt for that matter either but Im trying :)

Sounds like your fish have gill flukes.
This would explain the fast swimming and stopping. It's trying to shake them.I would finish the copper treatment and then do the prazipro.
Black specks mean very little on a Scopas Tang.If it was a Yellow it could be black ich.Not really ich but tiny worms.

First, I am NOT using cupramine; I am using "SeaCure" which is an ionic copper. Cupramine has it own special requirements and benefits, go to http://www.seachem.com/support/FAQs/Cupramine.html#faq1 and it will answer a lot of your questions on Cupramine. It should be noted they do not recommend using Cupramine and Formalin together. Formalin is put out by FishVet. Use Google and you can pull up their web site.

As far as the scopas black spots do not mean black ich?
