Last night I droppedthe salinity in my QT to 1.011. Ofcourse, the guage couldbe off....
Today I came home to find my Kole Tang laying on the bottom, breathing heavy, almost looking like he was shedding skin. I realized I did not add baking soda to the RO water I put in the QT, so I added some over about an hour and he is doing better. In case there was an ammonia spike (which I doubt as there are no inverts in the tank that I know of) I adde some prime and I added some mixed sw to get the salinity to 1.016. He is doing better now.
Weird thing is that an ocellaris is in t here, too, with no problems.
Could the shedding skin be some kind of parasite? Any ideas what might have happened? Thx.
