I have a 10g QT cycles and ready for new fish. I wasn't thinking when I ordered a blue tang, lawn mower Benny yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp. Would they be ok all being in the same 10g qt for 4 weeks?

Which blue tang, there are 3 that use this name. If the tang is very small and the QT well cycled, maybe. But be ready to do a lot of WCs or get a bigger QT. Did you check the needs of the tang's DT before ordering? Inverts just need a few days QT.

Blue hippo(currently about 2"), he is going in a 160 gallon DT. I typically buy all my fish as small as possibly recommended. Goby and shrimp are pretty tiny and the blend is about 2". QT tank is cycled. Seperate question... Is it a good idea to run my QT maxi jet with foam prefilter in my DT's sump? I think I remembering seeing the filter can build the beneficial bacteria on it?

I would do that. I also have some small chunks of live rock in my qt as well as a sandbed which means this tank is for food training and observation. I would need to medicate in a separate tank.

You should be ok with those small fish in the 10 gal qt.

It is a good idea to put the maxi-jet with foam sponge in your dt sump and run it for a couple of days to build up its bacterial count.

How is your qt set up for filtration and water movement?

Make sure to keep your qt cycled by adding plenty of food before the new fish arrive.

I would have Seachem Prime or a similar ammonia detoxifier ready to use with water changes in case you get some initial ammonia spikes when you add the new fish.

Your hippo tang will outgrow your dt at some point as they are very active swimmers.
