QT - no ich yet

I've got a yellow tang in QT. I'm keeping up with water quality and her infection is getting better if you read my other thread. She's been in QT for two weeks tomorrow. Late last week, I thought I noticed mosquito-like bumps on her belly which slightly resembled the same bumps I saw before on my powder blue which turned out to be the beginning of ich.

To be on the safe side, I reduced the sg down over the last 3 days to 1.009.

My question is, if she does have the cryptocaryon, would it not definitely show up under hypo treatment fairly quickly - like within a day or two? If there's no ich there, I don't have to extend the QT period for it.

I would keep the fish in quarantine for 6 weeks at SG 1.009, to be safe.

6 week minimum (life cycle) also siphon the bottom of the tank which willl removeany encapsulated (one stage of the life cycle) before they become infectious.

Don't rush the QT, you'll feel good knowing you're adding a clean fish.

Keep it in QT for a full 6 weeks. No sense introducing ich into the display. Here is a real good link for hypo treatment incase you have any questions about it.
