QT stuff?

What all is needed for a QT? Is this basically a small display with all the live rock and sand, sump set-up, skimmer, and all the goodies, or do these run with just the minimum, heater, powerhead for small amount of flow, tube lighting, type of thing?
Obviously I don't have one and I am in the process of checking stock for a 150gal FOWLR that has been cycled and a small clean up detail added. I don't want to put fish into my tank without QTing them first. I started my 44gal this way and got really lucky, but I want to go about this the right way now that I know better.

Get a tank size has to be adequate to the size of fish you are going to QT, and your right about it being bare... heater, HOB filter, lighting(nothing extravagant) and some PVC pieces for the fish to hide in

basically yes but you don't need the sand and you are going to use copper based treatments then you remove the live rock
