I had just got new fish. I have my old tank as a qt set up. It is a 110g. The new fish I got are wrasses. Will paragurd kill ick? I have culpermine but, I know how some are sensetive to copper.

paraguard will kill ich , but it affects the biofilter more than cupramine...so watch the ammonia level if u decide to use it..

I have a wetdry filter on my tank. It is a new set up. I added some bacteria to help start the cycle. I plan on watching the ammonia level and doing freqent watter changes. If paraguard works on killing ick, are fish sensitive to it? Is paraguard just as good at killing ick? What are the effects of it? Why dont people use it more for qt on copper sensitive fish? Is it because of the effects of it on the biofilter?

according to seachems website paraguard is effective against ICH...another alternative for copper sensitive fish is quinine sulfate..

Thanks for helping. I have no outbreaks of ick right now. Should I use culpermine ,or try paraguard,or quinine sufate? I have never tried any of them. I am looking for the safest and easy rout to go.

Paraguard imo is a great product.... I have used this several times with great success and ive never lost a fish using it...... copper works but I never use any copper based medications.... too many health issues to the fish.. hyposalinity is what I would recommend trying first though.... hyposalinity when done properly is very effective and less dangerous on the fish...
