QT tank cycling?

Is this a sign that my qt tank is cycling? I've had it running for three weeks now and did a major water change - 10gallons out of 13.5 gallons about a week ago. Just checked my param and ammonia / nitrite / nitrate is 0.

Currently only have a small blue tang in it.

What were your perameters before your water change? And what did you use to cycle it?

Ammonia - nitrite - nitrate were 0.

Checked the param again this morning and it shows 0.

I did add Dr. Tim's one and only on Friday as well as did a prazipro dose as a precaution for my qt fish.

Usually most people cycle their quarantine tanks with beneficial bacteria from the display. For instance I keep Ceramic bio media balls in my sump, when setting up a quarantine I take a few out and throw them in there for cycling purposes.

While it is quarantine, it would be suggested there would be a rock or some other bio media in there for beneficial bacteria to grow on.

Otherwise looks great!

I agree. You look fine

I'm guessing the water is slightly cloudy from the large chunk of seaweed on the clip.

While your QT looks fine, you need a piece of rock, or sponge of some sort for the bacteria to populate. Yes they will populate the hard surfaces of the tank and PVC fittings, it will be no where near enough for a small bioload.

FYI all 0 parameters is good, but did you add an ammonia source for the bacteria in the Dr. Tim's to grow?

Usally just monitor ammonia and change water when rises. If you are dosing any medication you don't want rock add it Will absorb it

Ammonia source came from the mysis shrimp I threw in there
