Ok well I had a huge ich/velvet problem all my fish died so now im doing a Q.T tank I have a ten gallon with a heater and a small hang on filter and a 10lb piece of live rock .. just recently found out that I shouldn't have had the live rock in the tank ( I CANT WIN LOL ) so before I took the live rock out I did a water test the ammonia had a little spike so I did a 40% water change and took the live rock out ... I have a naso tang sail fin tang and a watchman gobbie in there im not treating again for copper until the water test right ...

Do you have media in the hang on filter? It's wise to put whatever media you use in the filter in your sump or tank for a week or two to "seed" it with bacteria. That helps prevent ammonia spikes. Putting three fish in QT at once is almost sure to cause problems. I think you should slow down. If I were you, I'd take two of those fish back to the LFS and quarantine one at a time.

If you're tired of losing fish, read as much as you can about the Tank Transfer Method (TTM). Basic philosophy is that ALL fish go through it before entering the display tank. Also, read about letting you display tank be fallow (fishless) for 9 weeks. This is the only way to ensure ich is not in your tank any more. I went through this earlier this year, getting all of the fish out of the display was a pain, but the rest is just patience. I've been ich free for several months and my fish are in perfect health.

Guess it depends on your goals for qt. Right now i think your in survival mode. Couple of totes or $10 kiddie pool would be pretty cost effective alternatives. Tank transfer method is painless IMO. Tmz has done some fantastic posts on qt. I really like to give fish a chance to thrive. I stabilize, knock the skank off , then see how they progress. It doesn't take much to provide a clean ,stress free environment.

Yeah the more I read the more I learn I Honestly think Brook was in my system after everything Ive read because I didn't know brook could effect other species

well i removed everything but the naso tang i just bought a 20 gallon (currently cycling) but as for the 10 gallon i bought the red sea copper kit with test tube so ive had it for 4 days now keeping the copper at a 0.3 tang looks a lot better his right fin isnt as mobile as i would like but i wonder if it hurt it self while i was pulling the other fish out or if its some type of infection....
