Qt tank question

Should I run the bottom filter in my qt tank or tank it out and just leave the white stones ?

Look like u have a aquaclear I have a aquaclear 20 in my 10 gallon QT I run everything unless there is ick then I take out the carbon because doesn't do good with copper

I know it is a preventive but have never used it but have read alittle about it here on reef central and it says to take out carbon so hopefully that helps u

Carbon in general will remove dissolved compounds in the water, to include your medication. So in general, you should not run carbon when dosing your quarantine tank as the carbon will remove some or all of the medication over time. It can be useful when finishing up a round of medication (along with water change) to help remove the medication from the water.
