QT tank Question

I know im supposed to set up a tank with no sand or rock???? so my question is how do i get it to cycle if i have nothing in there to start the biological filtration????

Best bet would be to use a filter off an established tank to help jump start things. You can add sand and liverock if you wish but once ICH treament hits the water, everything in there has copper on it that can't be removed but the fish.

so if the copper hits the rock you must dry out the rock

Once copper is introduced into the tank it is in the rock permanetly. Copper is hell on corals.
