QT tank size for 40B DT

Still working on my equipment list and planning to get a 40B during the Petco sale for my display tank, with a 20 gallon sump.

I'm debating QT size. I had originally written down a 10 gallon but am now wondering if I might not better get a 20 instead. So far my livestock plans are:
- 2 Ocellaris clownfish (and possibly a nem to host but possibly a coral instead)
- 1 Watchman or Randall's goby and a pistol shrimp to pair
- 1 Jawfish Opistognathus aurifons maybe?

I haven't gotten past that.

I'm also wondering about QT for a goby/shrimp. They burrow, so would need a sand bed and not a bare tank, right?

If it were me I would do a 20L. I think that would work out much better. 2.5 feet would take up the majority of you stand though.

I don't see why you couldn't use a 10 gallon. Unless you plan on having any small fish that get large and like a lot of swimming room like tangs.. I would stick with the 10. As for sand you can put a bowl of sand in there for him to bury himself in other than that i wouldn't be too worried
