what is the recommended # of fish for a 90 gal? I know size of fish matter also. Here is what I have now 2 clowns, Regal tang, fairy wrasse, orange rabbit, and a spotted hawk

wanting to add 3 purple fire fish gobies
some sort of blenny
was thinking about a marginated damsel

will this be to much?

You really just have to watch and see as you add fish and corals to how your system is affected by it .... theres no set limit of fish per gallons ... your tank is big enough you could probably get away with it ... although 3 firefish might be one to many just because one will probably be kept down in the LR from infighting..... I would skip the damsel personally

Firefish live in groups as juveniles and pairs as adults. A trio would improve your chances of getting a pair but as Jason said you will probably end up with an odd "man" out.

It is not so much as # of fish per gallon as it is a bioload of fish per filtration. Many factors go into "fish per gallon" most of which are dependant on filtration and amount of liverock to handle the bioload of the fish. Also Hawkfish can be very aggressive towards more passive fish like the possible firefish you want to add. As stated above more than 2 adult firefish can become problematic but if your tank is big enough you may be fine keeping a small group. Good luck with your additions.
