Quarantine inverts

My DT is fowlr 250g tank with some inverts and no fish because I had an ich breakout. I moved the fish to a 75g qt, and treated with copper. The fish are doing fine and now I want to keep the qt with copper treatment for all new fish.

To be absolutely safe, I am assuming that I should also qt any additional inverts. However, since they can't tolerate copper, is there a simple way to qt them?

Don't.

Inverts don't need quarentined. They can't catch ick or parasites like fish.

Unlike the fish.. inverts go in and stay in. While your fish are waiting to go back and for the ick to die out.. the inverts was happy and healthy in your tank :)

I know they can't catch ich but isn't it possible that they are freely riding on them from the lfs water? I just have to be absolutley sure.

Yes if the invert came from a system that contains fish. I isolate them for a week so the infectious phase (theront) of the parasite life cycle would be "inoperative". I try never, if at all possible, to transfer water from another source to my tanks.

Are you sure that one week is enough? The lfs says that I should qt the inverts for 3 months .

That's over kill..

The inverts are fine. What snorvich is saying is the WATER could contain free floating parasites.. and maybe one or two clinging on the invert just like a copepod on live rock (not infecting it). A week without fish end's it's life cycle and all it's generations in that water are destroyed.. The inverts themselves do not needed treated or anything special like fish.

Fish need quarentined around 8 weeks.. (2 months). LFS aren't the most reliable when it comes to information.. but hey the longer the better nonetheless. For fish we sometimes do 12 weeks (3 months) but for inverts that's overkill.

inverts cant catch ick but they can transport it during 1 of the ich lifecycles, you can QT inverts in a 10gal tank with sponge filter or airstone. if you want to be 100% it is a must to QT

I just bought Send Dollar Urchin. Is one week really enough for her in fish less tank? She needs food to survive and how long she can make without send?
