Quarantine tank setup

I always do TTM first initially the water is whatever salinity the shipping/LFS water is then on each transfer I raise the salinity a bit. Usually by the time I am done with TTM my salinity is where I want it or very close.

Do not hesitate to call ahead to the LFS to find out what their salinity is and double check it. If for some reason a LFS will not tell when you call then take your business elsewhere.

If your not doing TTM then you can do as mentioned above or you can top off with saltwater until you get to your desired salinity then switch to RO/DI for top off.

I keep my 10 gal. QT simple. Works for me.

What sponge filter is that? Is this commonly used for a QT Tank?

Is Paraguard an acceptable formalin alternative?

Thanks for taking the time to help.

To be honest I don't think I have used paraguard. The bottle I have is formalin MS by fish vet. Some of the more experienced in the fish disease forum may be able to give you an answer. I would hate to give you some bum dope.
