How do I decide what size to set up? And whats the cheapest way?

That's going to be based on how many and what sized fish you plan to QT. Also the length of time in QT you are planning.

My tank will be a 250 ltr. So no big fish. I'm also not sure how long i should quarantine for?

Yeah there's really no set rule except they're going to be stressed like mad for a bit in there. Only things that are necessity are lots of hiding places and some lower light levels, good oxygen too, and not too much water movement. I set mine up with some straight 2-4" PVC piping and rocks stacked around it. Keeps them from ramming into stuff when they freak out occasionally.

I'd say no less than 10-gals. and preferably 20-gal. if you have the space.

I dont have anywhere for a 20 gal sadly. Its a small bungallow. I will only be adding very small fish.

then i would go with the biggest you can place in the limited space you have.

I really like my 20 gallon long. It gives me many options. I can place about 3-4, 2-3 inch fish in there, if needed. Also it's a good size for a good size tang.
