Quarantine tank

If Im setting up a quarantine tank to treat ick, can I have liverock in the quarantine tank? I will be using hypo-salinity to treat the ick.

I wouldn't. And it won't be live after hypoing the tank as the low salinity will kill anything live on it. Just throw in some pvc pipe for hiding spots.

Will the benaficial bacteria survive the hypo? The only reason I wanted it in there was to help filter the water.

Do not worry about the beneficial bacteria. Just make sure you are lowering the salt slowly. It took me a week and a half to lower mine to 1006 and the fish are doing well. They have been in the tank in that level for 2 weeks. One more week and I will start putting the salinity in the right level so I can return the fish to my main tank.

How often are you doing water changes? Im using a 20gal long. Fish will consist of 1 mandarin, 1 6-line wrasse, and 1 2" purple tang.
